Hello, OC world!

One evening I felt a strong need to share my overclocking experiences, and since we as a community have a lot of forums devoted to OC I thought I’ll go outside the box and just write what I do, after all it’s easier that way (is it really?)

So, few words about me – I’m Szymon, from Poland, into computers since early 1990s and into overclocking since late 1990s. I started with 486DX2 at the time, when term overclocking was not yet coined (at least I did not meet it), and it was only about gaining extra speed. Over the years the approach has changed, manufacturers started releasing OC-friendly products, communities grew, competitions began and finally professional scene (resembling e-sports) emerged. I will probably also touch some of the general remarks as well, but my main focus is to describe my OC activities. I will also refer to my HWBOT profile a lot as some of things I’m posting there have some bigger story behind.

Dry ice cooling on CPU and RAM
Dry ice cooling on CPU and RAM

What I did so far? I had most of popular hardware over last 15 years in my hands tested and benchmarked. I enjoy mostly CPU and RAM overclocking, I’m not that much into 3D overclocking. In terms of cooling apart from standard air coolers I used water coolers, TEC modules, single stage phase change and dry ice – no LN2 yet, but I think that one of the later posts will introduce me to LN2 as I have all the required components, I only miss the coolant.

I hope to share some of the achievements, have fun with OC and learn new things. But it’s not only for me – if you would like to engage in a discussion or just say hi, please drop a comment, use contact form or just share/like/tweet/whatever-social-else. I will respond, promise. 🙂
